Because the actual implementation of classroom concepts in the real world scenario is quite different than our assumptions. The issues triggered at real-time implementation need skilled personals to provide timely and cost-effective solutions. So introducing industry-centric programme at the college campus is the need of an hour. Engineering colleges should take a step forward to teach beyond the curriculum so as to make students ‘industry ready’. Here some measures are given which facilitate the integration of classroom courses with the real technical world.
1. State-of-the-art Infrastructure:
In any accredited and AICTE recognized institution well build infrastructure and equipped labs structure are recommended for standard norms. This is prerequisite to proliferate inclusive and equitable quality technical education among the masses. Beyond that, today’s engineering campus should be collaborative and connected. It should be equipped with state-of-the-art research labs, technology-equipped workstations, classrooms with smart boards, Conference rooms foster with 3D projectors, large tables, specialized laptops and other enabled with interactive learning technologies like Wi-Fi campus, e-library etc. which allow students to refine their skills and give them exposure to cutting-edge technology.
2. Internships programs:
Facilitating internship program is one of the most important parts of the engineering curriculum. Every engineering graduate should undergo for at least 6 months of internship program to their niche industry. The Internship experience with good conduct & performance benefited them while applying for jobs. Most organizations also give them an opportunity to work with them with handsome pay after completion of their degree education. So for the successful career point of view pursuing Internship is a crucial part of an engineering program. Engineering colleges should create platforms for students so they can apply to various organizations for internships.
3. Techno Summit:
Participation in various technical events enhance students’ engagement and motivate them to bring innovation. Organizing such summits helps students to collaborate with industry professionals and gives them an opportunity to update themselves with emerging trends in the engineering world.
4. Build an association with a prominent organization:
Engineering colleges or technical institutions must have tie ups with recognized organizations, MNC’s who conducts placement drives for fresher. Campus drives give great exposure to students.
